The Children's ward has room for 60 patients but sometimes has far more. This child (with her mother) is sleeping on a cot on a hallway floor due to lack of bed space.

Many of the young children are hospitalized with malaria. It is a leading killer of infants This child is gravely ill with malaria and receiving a transfusion. He is comforted by his father.
